Happy Thanksgiving 2019
Dear Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation Friends & Family,
It is Thanksgiving week ~ a time to hopefully slow down and enjoy precious time with family, friends, and loved ones.
'Thank You’ seems like not enough words to convey the gratitude that the Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation has for all of you. You are volunteers, donors, sponsors, and contributors who together have reached thousands of families who battle pediatric cancer. You are givers in the truest sense of the word, because without knowing these families personally, you nonetheless see that they are neighbors, moms, dads, and children in our communities who are facing a fight most of us cannot imagine, and you have been moved to take action and help.
Your donations have paid family mortgages, utility bills, groceries, and other essentials so parents can focus on the healing and recovery of their children. Here is more of what you have done:
- You have helped more families in 2019 than ever before in Foundation history.
- With your support, we are targeted to surpass $225,000 in direct assistance to families by the end of December! We are not there yet, but with everyone’s support during our Holiday Giving Drive, this is achievable and will be the highest amount ever given in a calendar year.
- You have given more than $1.8 million in direct giving to children and families since the Foundation started.
Our 2019 Holiday Giving Drive is going on now, and there will be more calls to action in the days after Thanksgiving. We have received over 70 requests so far, and families are reaching out in need every day. You can create your fundraising page simply by giving your first and last name and email address at https://www.fccf.info/holiday-campaign/. The rest is done for you so you can quickly invite your contacts to give a donation and help a family.
Today, though, we really just want to say thank you. For all of you who have attended our events during the year, adopted or fed a pig from the Pigs in Action Program, participated in our FCCF family and community awareness activities, and those of you who referred a family so they could get the support they needed, we are grateful for all of you. Your kindness, compassion, and heart have meant the world to the Foundation and to these amazing kids and families.
We wish you and your families a joyful and healthy Thanksgiving.
With gratitude,
Andrea Inauen Greg Porcino
